“those who can do, those who can’t teach”

You heard the expression “those who can do, those who can’t teach”. I heard it too and I do tend to agree that it applies to many web sites or trainers.

I humbly propose to you that this web site is not the case.

I have been teaching Adults for over 20 years, in many different industries and not-for-profit organizations. I have been responsible, at one time or another, for all aspects of the Adult Education process, from needs analysis to curriculum development and delivery in the classroom.

In 2009, after leaving a large Insurance Brokerage firm where I worked as a curriculum developer and facilitator, I decided to convert one of the Provincial licensing course into an online course. As many facilitator or trainer in the business, I underestimated how different online delivery is from classroom. It took me 7 months to convert the Alberta Insurance Level One Licensing Exam, a 35 hours classroom course, into a fully self-contained and very successful online course.

In this blog, you will read about my experience in this first project, as well as learn to avoid some of the pitfalls and challenges I ran into as a “online education newbie”. It is my hope that you will take advantage of the free material available and maybe consider investing in yourself to become a successful online education provider.

I do make a decent and comfortable living from my “real” online course, as opposed to those to actually only make money in selling course on how to make money.  In my articles, lessons and newsletter, I will focus on the actual steps you need to take and provide you with as much details as possible -without information overload.

So, whether you are interested in converting one of your current classroom course, or creating a new one, this is the right place for you to start and finish.

As with all of my courses, anything I sell on this site will come with a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee.

I hope to hear from you soon,

Alain L Gauthier, RPT
